A Fling for Life..!!

Synopsis:

'A Fling for Life..!!' is based on a true story. Someone too close to me, went through the ordeal (unfortunately).

This is a common story of a boy and a girl meeting at office, to be the best of the friends. But does the friendship transform into love.? For it's not always that you have a happy ending. Do you.?
The boy loves (yes, he still does) the girl a lot, however, he couldn't say it to her. On her Face. And by the time, he garnered courage, she got hitched to someone else.

Come to think of it. You've loved someone for good 4 years but the other person still treats you only as a good friend. What could have been best for him? Backing off at the right moment or still persisting to woo her.

Poem:

Sitting alone on the porch as I ponder on my past,
The light would've been still shining upon me, had I asked.

Quite long ago, when I first saw you in a Stark-Red frock,
A sparkling Clutch to match, you stood aloof from the flock.

It was a mutual friend at Office, who made us meet,
Felt as if the Gods had conspired in attaining this feat.

Putting up an effervescent grin as I came upto you,
Very soon we struck a chord and all my inhibitions flew.

Our occasional dates gradually transformed into a daily affair,
Trying to find my missing heart, I knew Love was in the air.

After four years of togetherness, we were a perfect blend,
Still contemplating your mind, I treated u only as a friend..!

Mustering all the courage one day, as I parted my lips to propose,
My heart sank, sensing the gravity of words you chose:

"I know 'bout your feelings for me, but I still can't nod,
Me sharing the same grief, it's only your happiness I pray to God."

"I no longer have the right to command & that's only fair,
But it's my engagement the coming week, and I want you there..!!"

Hailing infinite curses at Lord, that night I wept like a kid,
Yet standing in the banquet, behind a bouquet my face I hid.

Sitting besides your would-be man, my heart you ruthlessly mauled,
Still unable to comprehend the reason why I was called..!

Re-visiting the old memories, it was the last that I saw of you,
Not regretting a single moment, my Love I know is true..!

Being a Sophomore...!!

Synopsis:

"Being a Sophomore...!!" is a short take on having completing my second year of marriage. And yes, it has been a hell-of-a-year. Both in terms of intensifying our fights as well as sharing a great bond. I do feel lucky having a great life partner, who shares my thoughts, my vision, my ideas and what not.

You know, it feels awesome just knowing the fact that, yes, there is someone in the world for whom you could give anything. Do anything.

"Elated in achieving this milestone, forever to go..!"

Poem:

Not quite long ago, while I was a lone soul,
Life had tons of emotion, but inside a massive hole.

A fine day You came along, like a sudden gush of breeze,
Just one look at your face was enough to drop me on my knees.

Your dashing nature flushed all my miseries down the sink
After years of pursuit, I've finally found the missing link.

Taking the day off, as I gear to celeberate our anniversary,
Being content at my take, a strange thought isn't something to worry.

 "What's a couple-of-years old marriage all about,
Is it less to speak and more to shout?"

The above notion might at times sound true,
For only reason, that, our PATIENCE has grew.

The antics I try, to charm you, often depict me as a schmuck,
You being my sole priority, for the rest I don't give a f**k..!

A Rusty Heart..!

Synopsis:

What happens when your feet are clutched with the daily boring routine, that just includes home to office and back to home. You start to lose the charm, the effervescence. "A Rusty Heart..!" is one such small poem about a boy caught in grave tentacles of Life. Yet, he has the determination to succeed. The will power to overcome.

However, just when you've managed to forget the past, and move ahead, What if the past comes back. What if it starts to feel like deja-vu all over again.?

Poem:

Driving hysterically to Office, as I again got late
Squeezed my bike between cars, cursing the bloody fate.

Lost in my million woes, I woke up to a deafening roar
Hit by a car from back, the blood started to pour.

Yelling at the driver, to punch, my hand I drew
The face had a striking resemblance to the girl I once knew.

Recollecting the old times, we stood staring the other in the eye
Unfazed by the hundreds of speeding cars passing by.

The aroma that you always wore, still lingered on my face
Hoping to learn you're unmarried, I pried to find a trace.

In Spite of being six years, since you left after the hideous fight
I'm still unable to wipe off the tears you brought, the very unfateful night.

For all the agony you inflicted on me, I parted my lips to scream
A tight slap by my dad, instantly woke me up from the dream…!

The sexy figure had now transformed into an angry old man
Somehow saving my ass, to the Office I quickly ran.

Hiding from my manager, as I stealthily entered the bay
My boss pounced on me like a tiger leaping on its prey.

The afternoon meet with the Client brought a new ray hope,
Spotting her in the Conf. Room, gave me a high without the dope.

She had grown up the ladder winning accolades for her team,
And I had stumbled at every phase like a falling beam.

Learning:
Instead of leaving the trash, I was chewing the same old bread,
The key to a happy Life is only in moving ahead...!

The Last Word..!!

Wrapping up my desk today, as I look back in time,
The feelings that I wish to convey would obviously rhyme.

A Day wouldn't ever complete without few P-one's and P-two's
But the post-celebrations were terrific, especially for the unlimited booze.

The credit for the upbeat-tempo, goes to our very-famous Level A,
Who invariably striving for team's success, lightens up the bay..!!

Besides few minor hiccups, my journey (3.5yrs) has been all hunky-dory.
It's finally time to move-on in Life, & for that I ain't sorry.

My quest for a perfect Employer is something I'm yet to crack,
Though presently it feels as if the GOOD days are BACK..!

Taking no grudges with me, today I'm parting on a good note,
Hoping to someday cross paths with you, donning the IT-overcoat.

Sweet moments of time..!!

 **dedicated to my wife**

The lights were blazing and the blinds pulled over,
The scene was intense with your head on my shoulder.

Each second heightened the gravity of your pains,
Strangely, the doctors were happy with no complaints.

Putting a brave face, my tears I hid,
Just to ease your pains, my Life I could bid.

The time was up, when they shifted you above,
Fretting in the lobby, I was praying for my love.

In a corner inside the O.T., I stood mesmerized at the sight,
Draped in a blanket the li'l one emerged like a knight.

His mere presence brought a big-smile on your face,
Defying all odds, you had finally won the race.

The hardships a lady does face, only makes me think,
She is indeed a powerhouse, often pushed to the brink..!!

The Chase..!!

Panting along the road, as he stood to catch sum breath,
The scene before him resulted in almost certain death.

Missing her by 'that' much, he abused the flat tyre,
The tail lights of the (departing) bus shone like a fire.

Grimly holding his face, sat in a corner on the (bus)stand,
Today had been exactly an year when the love-story began.

Taking the same bus to college, they met on a fateful day,
She forgetting her purse, he was more than eager to pay.

Apart from the pleasantries, she had a glint in her eye,
Dumbstruck by her beauty, our Romeo begun to fly.

Gradually as the trips increased, so did their bond,
He quickly fell in love just waiting for her to respond.

After an year of struggle, finally mustered the courage to propose,
Though, missing the bus today, his heart took a thousand blows.

Suddenly, a girly figure, emerged from behind the wall,
His mouth let out a quiet sigh, staring at his Doll.

As if destined, she had a premonition of his inner will,
Ignoring the Richie Richs, she chose him for the thrill.

Comprehending the above episode, I've started to feel,
It Ain’t about the money, determination is enough to seal the deal..!!

My prodigy..!!

**Dedicated to my boy Vivaan..!!

No Longer flirtatious, Though I'm Still a handsome Guy,
Your occasional perky smile, lends me the much-needed High..!

Lately, the beard 's turned , to my utter dismay,
Yet the age seems worthy, when in my lap you play.

Your actions tend to create a sense of deja vu,
I kinda see a Junior Lokesh in all that you do.

Unlike other Pops, I have only advice for thee,
"Live your Life in Style, with dignity being the Key...!!"

Thy Leader...!!

Dressed in khadi with swell shades to dote,
I took off to the polling-booth to cast my vote.

All set to choose, I searched for their sign,
Failed in spotting the "lotus", though others seemed just fine.

Still trying to figure out, the Officer squealed aloud,
"You are not alone here, can't you see the crowd.?"

"Modi is my leader, & I'm here to increase his tally",
Pat came the reply, "But in Pune, Shiv-Sena is their Ally".

With all my ignorance, I asked "Then, What's their sign.?"
His eyes turned red as if I were a filthy Swine.

Trusting his word, I finally chose the bow & Arrow,
Hoping to elect my leader who's indeed emerged as a PHARAOH...!
